Judy Bass

Judy Bass holds a M.F.A. degree in painting from The George Washington University. She taught at the Corcoran College of Art and the Maryland Institute College of Art before dedicating more than 30 years of art education to Marymount University where is was designated a Professor Emeritus when retiring in 2016. During her tenure at Marymount, she was also the director of the University’s Barry Gallery.

During her career, Judy has  had a solo exhibition at The Phillips Collection, and was invited to be a visiting professor of art at the University of New Mexico in 1981-1982. She was so inspired by New Mexico that she continues to travel there every summer. It has had a profound influence on her art.
