Sherry 
Trachtman

Sherry Trachtman is an Arlington, VA based artist working for the past fifteen years in Collage Assemblage.

 

She received both her BA in Design and MFA in Painting from American University, Washington, DC.

 

Trachtman is Professor Emerita at Northern Virginia Community College where she served on the fine art faculty at the Alexandria Campus for over 30 years. She has been a Signature Member of the National Collage Society since 2014, has won three national awards, and has shown her work throughout the country, and in England and Korea.

 

Since retiring in 2015, Sherry Trachtman has had two solo shows: Sherry Trachtman, New Works at the Shirlington Library, Arlington, VA, and Life Cycles at the Passage Gallery at the Schlesinger Arts Center, Alexandria, VA.; a three-person show, Material Differences, at the Barry Gallery, Marymount University, Arlington, VA; and has participated in two invitational shows: No Fabric, No Rules at the Virginia Quilt Museum, Harrisonburg, VA, and Board Out of My Mind at the Athaneum Gallery, Alexandria, VA.
